I thought I would kick off the Modern Mudras blog with a bit of background about how this methodology came about.
I have been palm reading for over 35 years; meaning the art of divination by looking at the lines and features of the palms. My palmistry approach has been a source of much joy, and I continue to be deeply devoted to the practice. At some point many years ago, I also realized that there is a complementary approach to understanding the self that a one-time palm reading doesn't quite meet.
When I apply sociological observations of a person's hand gesture, and overlay these on the traditional metaphysical correspondences of the fingers, an amazing thing happens:  people's unconscious desires, motivations, and objectives are revealed. Thus, the birth of Modern Mudras.
For a long time, I simply incorporated reading the hand gesture into my way of doing palmistry, but in recent years I have come to realize that the hand gestures themselves can be a methodology, with or without the more traditional palmistry included. This has freed me up to explore analyzing the hands where the lines of the palm are not distinct or visible. Examples are statues, artwork, and icons, and also photos of celebrities as they are waving or gesticulating.
This exploration into the connections between body language, social psychology, and palmistry has revealed not only a new way to help people see themselves, it has pointed the way to allow people to use the positions of their hands to influence their situation in ways aligning to their desires.
I am excited to share all that I have discovered and developed over this past decade or more in this blog, and hope you’ll learn along with me, and see how applying this methodology works in your own life.
